Deputy Director General Chen Huaming attended the Third China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo Promotion Conference in Guangzhou and delivered a speech

On April 17, the Third China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo Promotion Conference was held at Langham Place Hotel in Guangzhou, focusing on promoting the expo, attracting business partnerships and publicizing the Greater Bay Area market. About 200 Chinese and foreign guests attended the conference, covering the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province, Changsha Municipal Government, China-Africa Business Council, Hunan Chamber of Commerce Zhejiang Branch, as well as related enterprises, business associations, exhibition providers and media in China and Africa. Chen Huaming, Deputy Director General of the Trade Development Bureau, attended and addressed the conference.

China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) is committed to creating a new mechanism for China-Africa economic and trade collaboration, a new platform for implementing economic and trade initiatives of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and a new window for China’s local economic and trade cooperation with Africa. Successfully held for two sessions, CAETE has generated practical and fruitful outcomes with 216 projects signed, amounting to USD 43.02 billion.

The 3rd CAETE will be held in Changsha, Hunan Province, from June 29 to July 2, 2023, co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Hunan Province and organized by the the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce and the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province. With the theme of “Common Development for a Shared Future”, this CAETE will offer 100,000 square meters of the exhibition area to showcase the achievements of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation, as well as African quality and characteristic products and Chinese products, production capacity and services suitable for Africa. CAETE will feature about 30 supporting activities in six categories, including major events, high-end forums, high-end seminars, matching negotiations and themed seminars.
